Valette is a degree-planning tool for Mississippi State University students, built by Valette Labs. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Mississippi State University. Contact: support@valettedegree.com.
When you drop a transcript onto Valette, the file is read and parsed by code running in your own browser. The file is not uploaded. No copy of it, and no data extracted from it, is sent to us or to anyone else.
What Valette extracts (course codes, titles, credit hours, grades and terms) is saved in your browser's local storage so your work is still there when you come back. That storage belongs to your browser on your device. We have no access to it.
Use Clear saved data on the Courses page. That removes everything Valette has stored, immediately and permanently. Clearing your browser's site data does the same. Because we never held a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no request you need to make.
Our host, Netlify, records standard server logs for the requests that serve the site: IP address, approximate time, the page requested, and browser type. These are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
There is no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking on Valette. We set no cookies of our own.
That is the complete list. Nothing else is loaded, and no data about you is shared with anyone.
Degree requirements come from Mississippi State's public course catalog. Class times and seat counts come from MSU's public class schedule. Both are public information about courses, not about people, and both are snapshots that can fall out of date.
FERPA governs how schools handle student education records. Valette is not a school and is not a school official: it never receives your records. You are reading your own transcript on your own device with a tool that happens to run in a browser tab. Nothing you do in Valette discloses your records to us or to anyone else.
Valette is intended for university students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Valette can be wrong. Course data is extracted from published sources and can be incomplete or out of date, and a degree audit is not an official one. Always confirm with your academic advisor and with DegreeWorks before you register, drop, or rely on a graduation date.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site.
